saw this on xf forums......semms pretty use for drawing out a plan of attack, as opposed to scott going over positions 6 times on ts.......it even works in a live enviroment, everyone connects to a server and can draw the plan on the map for all to see. Or just use it to draw up tactics with the spawn points and all that shit and save the image. Check it out
www.gtactix.com/ When you first install it it will ask to update it. Also you will need to go to tools->map vault and install the map packs.
Yeah going prone is probably the best thing to do, i tell other people to do it when they ask for tips.....but fail to do so myself..... I have watched live shoutcasts of bf2 and bf2142 tournaments for CAL and TGL, 80% of those guys hit the floor when they engage in close quarters combat.
Hitting the floor (Diving) is a reasonable reaction to combat. So is crouching. It lowers your signiture and increases accuracy (especially for LMGs). As such, it's designed into the game. It's human-like and a reasonable tactic (like ducking behind something, crouching, running away or 'hitting the dirt').
Bunnyhopping, in the real world, in combat, is just dumb. Can you see a soldier doing that in the open field while under fire. COD4 doesn't have space aliens and some servers will kick you for hopping around.
Jumping onto some object (to shoot down) isn't bunnyhopping (once) but Dolphin-Diving (jump and dive) is the same not because of the dive but because of the jump.
It's just without regard to realism, and as such, silly. It is, however, good for your ratio.

Thoughts on bunny hopping:
I remember the VC bunny hopping in "Platoon". I think the tiger bunny hopped in "Apocalypse Now". All of Saladin's army bunny hopped in "Kingdom of Heaven". Didn't Tom Hanks bunny hop in "Saving Private Ryan"? And no doubt about it, the whole German Army was bunny hopping in "The Longest Day".
My friend James "Dude" Garrett said that when he was in Nam, the VC would bunny hop when he opened up his M60 on them in an ambush. They only hopped once tho, and then quit forever.
I have noticed more bunny hopping lately. Looks like the noobs have invaded COD4.
I wonder if the Iraqi Army bunny hopped? If so, it dint do them much good.
well i tend to hop myself, usually I try to not get hit (jump away) grab cover then engage battle....tbh i might disable my jump button for a little while, till i train my brain to not do it.... Bunny hoping has always been around people just dont complain about it until you actually have to shoot your enemy without a lag lead, you have to get your crosshair on target. I know Scott got a little mad last night....I jumped around him and stabbed him in the back......
