No Scott, I don't have naked pictures of Obama....
Western Digital has come out with a cheap ($100) media player that connects to a USB hard drive and will play about any format video comes in, including HD. With 1 Terabyte Hard Drives selling for about $100-$125 at Costco, this means you have a portable device that carries between 120 and 1600 movies and can play them back easily on any TV with inputs. It will also do music, pictures, home movies, most any media. If you...ahem...download media, this is a cool way to carry all your swag around and you can either hook it up to a puter or a teebee. Fastest way I know of to D/L something and watch it on the TeeBee.
I collect video of concerts performed by my favorites artists like Mark Knopfler, Springsteen, and the Allman Brothers and surfing movies (big waves fascinate me) so this is a great way to store all that video without having to burn a DVD and tote it around. I was able to...uh...find...all of Ken Burns' documentaries (Civil War, WWII, Baseball, Jazz) and load them onto this thing. And the dang thing will hook up to 2 hard drives at once.
Technology just gets better and better. My next project is an iPod for my skiff. No more will Yanni skip-n-yip like a demented purse poodle when I hit choppy water.....
