Not sure how many of you watched E3 but it was exciting! Especially so for DICE, awesome showing.
Watch in 1080p!
Mirrors Edge 2 announced
The looooooooooooooong (long) awaited Star Wars: Battlefront 3 was announced!
And of course, Battlefield 4!
A lot of changes being made! I'll try and list some of the more notable ones.
-Commander & Spectator Mode!
It's back! In both Mobile and console version, you can command the battlefield directly through the game or through a tablet! Tomahawk missiles, UAVs, Supply crates, you get to support your team through different means and hopefully lead them to victory! You make use of a brand new table top view of the map that will assist you in making calls and commanding your squads. Commander and the new spectator are different than in past iterations, this time the slots they take are completely separate from the 64 other players actually on the battlefield. Amount of spectators allowed is currently unknown.
-Improved Destruction and Interactive/Dynamic Environment!
BF4 ups the ante from BF3 with vastly improved destruction. Knock out support pillars, blow out glass, bring down entire skyscrapers! The possibilities are (mostly) endless. BF4 brings new features such as working elevators, deploy-able roadblocks and (Security Gates?) in certain shops and stores. Bringing down big structures completely changes the way the area plays out. The area can turn from perfectly clear to completely cloudy and smoky in an instant. Even small things, such as a fire extinguisher can be shot to provide a quick smoke screen.
-Dominate Ground, Air, and now, Water!
Many changes are being made to the currently existing ground and air combat, but naval combat will be affected the greatest. With the added changes, you'll be able to fire your sidearm while at the surface of the water, bob into the water as protection from gunfire for a brief period, and can now sprint swim! New vehicles have been added, such as boats with escape mechanisms in the form of jetskis on the back to allow for quick escape in rough situations. Boats will now allow for much heavier armed turrets too, including anti air turrets.
-Animations and QoL(Quality of Life)
Spotting is now made easier, being given the ability to spot multiple enemies at once. A hand gesture has been added pointing at the spotted enemy and they will now be called out to teammates, as well as their location. e.g. "Enemy tank located to the west!". New parachuting animations have been added, so when you parachute it now has a ripcord pull animation, where it goes overhead and comes back in to view. Recon(possibly more) will have a 'peak' ability, where they can fire over an object without exposing themselves completely. Knifing has had many changes, with new animations and a brand new 'counter-attack' feature, though not much information is out about counter-attacking. Grenades will also see a new animation, which has turned into more of a baseball throw.
-Weapons and class changes
Many class changes! Handle it! Recon has been given C4's, have become focused on bolt action sniper rifles, and received the ability to zero a weapon.* Automatic sniper rifles have been turned into a general weapon, Marksman rifles, and Carbines (BF3s engineers weapons) are also now being made general. Thought that assault will stick with AR's, LMG's on support and SMG's to be given to engineer. Assault will now have a new first aid kit, which can be dropped and instantly restores health to one player, on top of the usual medic pack which works similarly to BF3 medic pack. Defibrillators now must be charged, done to combat spam reviving. Supports have been given a new grenade launcher, the XM25, which is capable of picking people off behind cover. Similar to assault, supports now receive an ammo box as well as their ammo kit. Engineers get a similar setup of gear, but with some flexibility in what they want to bring. New equipment is being added, such as incendiary grenades and flash bangs.
Zeroing is basically the way you set a guns sights to adjust for bullet drop and wind effects over a distance. so an example would be if you fire a rifle zero'd to 300m at 600m, the bullet will hit lower than where the cross hair is, so you would zero the gun to 600m and it would then hit dead center of the cross hair.
Battlefield 4 is set to launch on October 29th on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, and at a later date for PS4 and Xbox One. It'll allow 64 players on next gen consoles and PC, and 24 on current gen consoles. Two map packs are already announced, China Rising and Second Assault. The former will, naturally be china based and the second will bring the return of 4 fan favorites from Battlefield 3.
sanks nd stuff
TLDR; buy bf4 pls
